Day 2, Muir of Ord to Kishorn

I opened the curtains to blue skies and not a cloud in sight.  It was a good omen for the first big cycle of my trip.  Mike and Val made sure I left with a hefty bowl of porridge before we said out goodbyes and I headed of into the wilds of Scotland.

Leaving Mike and Val's in the sunshine.

It was quite a busy section up to Garve, but once I turned off the main 'A' road toward Achnasheen I could start to enjoy the highland scenery instead of cars and lorries fly past.

Looking over Loch a'Chuilnn

Boardy enjoying the scenery

The hills are alive.
I stopped at Achnasheen for lunch.  There's not there except a train station, but the Ledgowan lodge hotel was open where I stopped for coffee and a sandwich.  I pushed onto Lochcarron when I knew there was a great tea room at the golf club called The Tea Off Cafe.

Tee off Cafe yum yum !!!
I then had only 5 miles over to my accommodation for the night at the Sanachan bunkhouse in Kishorn.  It is a very good bunkhouse, just opened very clean and comfortable.  I made my dinner in the kitchen before having a walk around Kishorn and visiting the Kishorn Selfie box !!!!  Next door is the Kishorn Seafood Bar which looked to serve great seafood, but also bottles of Skye Gold beer of which I had a couple watching the sun set.

Kishorn Selfie box.

Looking out across Loch Kishorn to the Isle of Skye and the Cullin mountains in the distance.
